When the KZ650 was released in 1977it was often referred to as the son of the famous Z1 having been designed by the Grand Master himself, Ben 'Mr Z1' Inamura.

The Z650 had the agility of a 500 with the performance of a 750, and was considered by many to be the best Kawasaki to that date, with a dry weight of 211kg, 64bhp and capable of 190km/hr in stock trim.

The Z650 forged itself a reputation as a 750 beater – Kawasaki Australia even entered a 650 in the Castrol 6 Hour raced by legends Greg Hansford and Murray Sayle.

It is not often that we see one of these bikes in our showroom and certainly not in this condition, and this example will not last long.
